Sound Research

Digetic Sound
Is sound that the audience hear but also the characters such as a conversation or walking down a corridor to make it more obvious you usually get a reaction from the character  this could also be known as "Literal Sound" or "Actual Sound".

Non-digetic Sound
Is sound that is not present in the story space so you cant visibly see the source of the sound on screen and the characters don't react to the sound in any way this could also be known as "Non-literal Sound" or "Commentary Sound".

External Digetic Sound
Sound coming from a physical source within the story space which you assume all the characters can hear this could be the sound effects present in a fight scene like breaking bones.

Internal Digetic Sound
Sound coming from the mind of a character such as a small piece of dialogue talking about someone you would be able to hear and so would the character but no other characters in the room.

Stereo and Dolby Digital 5.1
Stereo is an older use of sound display which is based on having 2 audio channels left and right which usual means that there are 2 microphones picking up the sound and feeding it into the left and right speakers.
Dolby Digital 5.1 is a surround sound format and is the basic format used for audio on DVD Video Dolby Digital can have up to 5 channels compared to the Stereo's 2 channels the 5 channels are: front center, front left, front right, surround left and surround right.

Sound Clip

I am analyzing the use of sound in the short film above, i decided to watch until 1:30 then start analyzing. The first thing i notice is the use of a soundtrack for a while then the sound effects come in first with the woman opening the door i think that it was likely to be recorded on set with a zoom because it has a crisp sound and if not then it could of been recorded of set by simply opening a door or cabinet the next major sound i picked up on was the sound of the ripping which would of had to be a Foley effect recorded before the filming this could of been done by simply ripping a sheet or ripping the jeans the sound of the phone was likely recorded at a different point as well due to the volume of the ringing which i believe was edited i think the woman's dialog was recorded on set using a zoom because of the clarity of the recording and how well it fits to the visuals the mans voice was recorded at a different point and cut in again likely a quiet location with a zoom.

Overall the use of sound and sound effects gives you a comedic feel for this character and makes you feel as though nothing goes right for her.

If all the sound effects were recorded on set they might of been less clear which wouldn't of made them stand out as much but it may make you feel more immersed as though you were there. some effects had to be recorded separately like the man talking.

http://www.freesfx.co.uk/soundeffects/doors_windows/

The sound effect i was interested in is called "Knock Knock" it is likely to be an actual recording of someone knocking rather then folly the sound was probably recorded in an empty roof hence the echo and with a microphone of decent quality such as a Zoom or a Marantz.

Ident remake

Due to the feedback i received about my previous ident i decided to make another more professional ident which used more of my after effects based skills i went with one of my other ideas which was originally intended to be a door with a nameplate on it and people walking in the background but i though it may infect draw attention away from the nameplate which i would intend to be the focus.

I started out with just a nameplate from google and i put it into Photoshop once in photoshop i used the magic wand tool and removed the background and holes in the plate then i saved it as a photoshop file.
Next i imported the PSD file as a Composition i also dragged it onto the new composition i then added text using the icon and wrote out the name JCProduction on it i set the timeline to 0 and set the opacity to 0 on both the text and PSD files transform option then i changed the option to 100 at 1 second to give it a fade in appearence i then decided to put a camera flare on the text layer to create the shimmering effect i wanted after fiddling around with its settings i had the look i was after i also made the flare move across the writing over 1 second then i added an extra keyframe on opacity and made it fade out.
With everything completed i finally decided to change the nameplate's colour so i typed into effects colour finesse and applied it to the nameplate psd i opened the full interface and began to play around with the image and as a result got a darker grey which made the writing stand out and look more effective.                                  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSvNDSvf7d0&feature=youtu.be
I like this Ident more than my Scary Door Production ident because this one forced me to use more of my after effects skills such as the layering of text which made me ensure that it was on the top layer or else it wouldn't of been visible i also enjoy using the colour grading now and being able to change the complete look of an image.

Single Camera - Evaluation

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSiJ9Olu108&feature=youtu.be

For my Single Camera Production we made a 7 minute Short film called Club Cerveza the story is about a man who has been set up to take the fall for something he didn't do and he's being interrogated by the bus the story mainly consists of flash backs to help aid the story and explain it.

I enjoyed this production as it allowed for a lot of creative decisions such as using the Track and dolly which was rather enjoyable I also enjoyed using our location which was the Royal Hotel which was my first taste of using a guanine location thanks to the basement we used it allowed us to manipulate the lights to get a really good interrogation effect.

I liked the end result of our production as i thought it was visually how i wanted it the only problems i had was some of the effects we put in such as the last gunshot which looked weird and some of the sound needed to be re recorded or we should of had more mic's on set.

Viral Advert

Theses are some photos i took during the editing stage of the viral advert the first thing i did was use the warp stabilizer because some of the footage was not steady enough once i had stabilized it i ran it through some color correction in which i tried to bring out the reds more including the hair color and the brightness of the Dr. Pepper label to make it stand out the main problem i encountered was that when i made the colors more red it also effected the skin color turning it a very saturated orange. But overall i wanted it to have a almost vintage feel like the old days of Dr. Pepper advertising which is why i used a previous slogan "trust me i'm a doctor" instead of there newest slogan "whats the worst that could happen" and i think i overall achieved this "vintage" Theme.

Viral Advert Pre Production

Viral Advert Ideas

Vans Idea Sketch
For my Vans Idea it will feature lots of van pictures the same van in plenty of locations that will then be cut together to give it the feeling of motion i will then plan to photoshop the Vans name/logo to each picture on the last image i will put the name in after effects instead i will then keyframe and fade the opacity and i will then adjust the X and Y of the name making it move and increase in size the cover the screen.
Skittles Idea Sketch

This is one of my basic undeveloped ideas for skittles the idea is that the entire clip is in slow motion as skittles begin to fall this could be either real skittles or a Png file that rotates on the X and Y axis and i will keyframe the X and Y a man will then jumps into the shot and eat the skittles the screen then fades and Skittles tittle appears.

Dr. Pepper Idea Sketch
After Briefly drawing up and having a basic idea i decided to run with my Dr. Pepper idea I've began the planning stage of my pre production and have a rough idea my idea is to make a viral advert for Dr. Pepper it will be a piece of footage i will shoot then i will colour grade it and add some animations in. This is a basic sketch that includes some of the details i hope to include.

Plan

I will Shoot some footage on A DSLR of a Female drinking Dr Pepper from a bottle I then i will take the footage sand import it into After Effects and colour grade it increasing Red the Gain in of the RGB channels which should give it a Vintage feel when I've colour graded it i will add some .png images from the internet of the Dr. Pepper brand including some drinks and the logo i will then use the text button to write in my slogan "Trust me I'm a Doctor" of the drink and animate them to move by key frame the opacity and possibly the position of the X and Y axis. I plan for most of my work to be After effects based as i plan the main park of my Advert will be Footage that i have shot and only using Photoshop if there are files that still have backgrounds present in which case i would need to remove them.

The screen will start black then using opacity I will fade in the footage and start it playing if this doesn't work my back up plan would be to do this in FCP in which I could use the fade effect from a slug when the screen fades in the fist shot play which is the female lifting the drink the camera then zooms in whilst she drinks focusing on the label Dr Pepper then after a few seconds it fades out and the pictures will fade in one at a time.

Target Audience

The target audience  for my advert is likely to be  any age above 12+ so early teens onwards as there generally the age I'm going to try to attract to drinking Dr. Pepper.

Case Study - Unit 62

Formats

Lossless is a type of Compression which when uncompressed all of the original information is completely restored which gives you the highest quality results whereas Lossy is a form of Compression that reduces a file by permanently eliminating certain redundant information therefore Lossless seems to be abetter type of compression and would result in no information lost and overall higher quality.

MPG is a extension for an MPEG animation in the MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 codec. MPEG-1 was designed for coding progressive videos at bit rates of about 1.5 million per second. MPEG-2 was designed for coding interlaced images at bit rates above 4 million bits per second.

3GP is specifically used as a video streaming format for mobile phones and can also be found in other multimedia devices.

ASF is a file format that stores audio and video information and is specially designed to run over networks like the internet.

MP4 is a format that is widely used which means a MP4 has various file name extensions that can help give clues as to what kind of content the file contains.

A MOV file is a Apple QuickTime Movie Format and is exclusive and limited to QuickTime player which means it won't open on other players making it not very useful.

AVI (Audio Video Interleaved) is a sound and motion picture file that requires a special player to be used.

WMV (Windows Media Video) is a type of video compression format which is gaining popularity as a format for Blu-ray Discs.

FLV (Flash Video) is a video format created by Adobe which works with the Flash Player as well as other FLV Players Lots of web videos use this format.

SWF is a extension for Shockwave Flash the files can contain animations and sound designed for web use.

Content Delivery

DVD is a well known Format of Content Delivery it is used world wide to play films or even basic recordings DVD's are region encoded which means that DVD's will only work on players that are meant for that region for example Region 1 is the USA, Canada and US territories which means if you get a DVD from America it wont work in any UK (region 2) DVD players and vice versa but some DVD's are meant to be viewable on any player and are classed as region 0 which means it can be viewed anywhere. Dvd's are usually formatted for television systems NTSC (USA) or PAL (Europe) These two formats are incompatible even if using a region 0 disc you will need to ensure your television can handle the format, However Many European TV sets are multi standard meaning they can display a NTSC signal.

Quicktime was originally a piece of software mainly used by Mac's to view multi media footage but recently Quicktime 7 Pro was released which not only allows you to play different multi media footage but now allows you to record and need cut down clips. Quicktime can support more format types then any other media viewer some it supports are: AVI, AVR, DV and OpenDML.
http://www.apple.com/uk/quicktime/

Windows Media Player is the basic media viewer Used on a PC with Windows Media Player 12 you an now not only use the normal formats available but it is the first windows media player that can also play Quick  time files (.mov)  MP4 audio files (.m4a) MP4 Video file (.mp4, .m4v, .mp4v, .3g2, .3gp2, .3gp and .3gpp) Windows audio files (.aac, .adt and .adts) and MPEG-2 TS Cideo files (.m2ts)
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/windows-media-player

DivX web player supports DivX format (.divx and .avi) the H.264-based DiveX Plus can also support .mkv format and MP4 (.mp4 .m4v and .mov) The maximum Resolution for DivX Plus is 1920x1080 DivX can also be downloaded merged with Quicktime Pro for maximum Format support.
http://www.divx.com/en/software/player

Youtube is widely used for both Audio and Video and can support a wide range of formats for uploaded videos the videos YouTube supports are .MOV .MPEG4 .AVI .WMV .MPEGPS .FLV .3GPP .WebM. Youtube also have a guide on how to convert files which can then be uploaded to youtube.

Mobile Devices

If you buy a Film on iTunes you can expect it to work as a full HD film Which would be a Lossless Mp4 format which is likely to be played through Apples Quicktime player as a (16:9) format 1920x1080 on Mobile devices such as an iPhone bit would still be a Lossless .MP4 format still (16:9) but would be on a smaller scale around 720x576

Netflix

If you rent a movie on Netflix its likely that it will be a full lossless VC-1 (video codec) file VC-1 is often used with both HD DVD's and Blu-ray disks the aspect ratio can go up to 16:9 and is a full lossless format.

FMP Evaluation

For my Final Major Project I used my Lonely Existence idea which is a short 5 minute production that follows a Protagonist who's searching for why he's alone whilst conducting his search it becomes apparent he's being stalked by something I enjoyed producing this piece of work as it allowed me to be as creative as I liked to be for example I tried out some cool camera angles that I thought were quite unique and made some scenes look more dynamic.

I think that my Production didn't go so well I thought I had shot a lot more then I had and only had enough footage to literally scrape 5 minutes I also had a problem with sound as when it came to recoding with the zoom you could still hear the wind in the recording which created a lot of problems.

One of my main problems was on the day of shooting there was a Tractor cutting down the bush in the area I planned to film which meant I had to change the plan quite quickly on set and film different things in a different location which meant I wasn't sticking to the shot list which is probably why I was only able to just achieve 5 minutes instead of around 7 minutes that I planned to reach.

One thing I liked was some of the unique camera angles we achieved one in the forest we made lift and rested it on a branch giving the feeling of height.

I think there was a lot of creative thinking in this production in all the shots I was trying to make the Protagonist look small and powerless to what's happening around him I did this by always making the camera higher then him.

I also dislike the ending of my project as I feel as though it doesn't make sense and I also had a lot of problems with attempting to show that the characters alone without having to keep saying it.

This is the link to my Finished Piece not the rough draft.

FMP Sound - Pre/Post Production

When doing sound for my FMP I considered both the music that I would have to find online and apply in post production and ambient sound I would recorded on set also I will be recording a voice over using the zoom.

I plan to recorded the Sound on set using a zoom microphone to give me a crisp clear set of sound effects such as twigs snapping and walking I could also catch some sounds of wildlife to put in the background

I have already found a Royalty Free soundtrack that I could easily loop to give a horror style feel to the loneliness
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0qXFh-pZes

I'm going to use my house when I'm alone to recorded my voice for the voice over which is key in telling the story.

Update
After filming and creating my rough draft i then made a basic plan of what sound was still needed so i could easily get these sound effects

Formal Elements of Motion Graphics

In this piece of work i will be looking at a few different viral videos Identifying and Assessing some of the techniques they use that i could then later use in creating my viral advert.

I looked at  The Evian Roller Babies Viral Advert First which consists of a group of babies with roller-skates dancing in a park I chose this advert for the amount of 3D elements included for example the babies are completely 3D Modelled and there are at least 10 of them dancing around which from observation looks to be the only thing that has been modelled for this advert the rest of the set looks to be footage with the CG babies added in at the end.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQcVllWpwGs&list=PL46B8A7F655780CF0

I searched around and Found some old Boomerang adverts that all feature at least 1 2D element the most obvious being the backgrounds these indents are layered cleverly to make you think that they are 3D but they are likely to be layered PSD files that are all 2D and all cross over each other which includes the cartoons and also the Boomerang Line that crosses over everything.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvGkMOS_dNg

I looked at this Apple iPod advert because it heavily features a black matte covering the RGB values of the people by first turning them alpha and then filling the alpha space which a black colour whilst the backgrounds colour remains or is changed throughout the RGB Values.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaVFCdwT0hk

RGB are three of the most basic Alpha channels RGB stands for Red Green Blue which are the basic primary colours which can be manipulated in filming to alter the different colours and give a desired effect on a piece of footage Alpha is another setting which changes the visibility aspect of something whereas adjusting the RGB will change the colour of something changing the Alpha will change the Opacity of something.

Corporate Promo Evaluation

For my corporate promo my client was the royal hotel in southend on sea I chose to make the promo for them because they had previously given us a filming location for our single camera drama and so it felt like we owed it to them we spoke to Don who was in charge of the pub area who liked the idea of us making a free promotional video for them so we gave him a list of idea we had come up with and if he wanted anything changed or added in which he was compliant and agreed with us on everything after we developed and fully planned the idea we returned but we were told to deal with the manager Cherish which ment we were dealing with a new client which was okay because she agreed with the same things as Don.

Our idea was mainly based around the opening of the downstairs club as that would be the biggest selling point we also focused on the fact it was a pub/club so it would feature a lot of the pub. I think our Promotional video was okay but was lacking in certain areas some of the shots looked out of place and low quality and i didn't particularly like the soundtrack we found. but we didn't have enough time to find a new soundtrack so we tried our best to make the audio fit the visual.

I think we showed our determination to this project because we filmed at there open late nights which went on till around 2-3 in the morning.

This is a Link to Christians Account where he uploaded the video http://50156377.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/corporate-promo-video.html

FMP Lonely Existence Proposal - Pre Production

Proposal

Synopsis
Jim Taylor has been alone for 11 days now with no one around all human life has vanished he is trying to find out why he is the sole survivor and where everyone has gone whilst searching for any signs of human life he begins to question what’s real and what’s a hallucination after a lengthy amount of time he realises something is following him whilst Jim is searching through a local woodland area and his Hallucinations are most vivid here so he runs to the road and finally confronts this figure dressed in black as the figure gets closer and closer more colour drains from the world and an extreme pain becomes apparent in his head the figure extends its hand and before it touches Jim everything fades and the last image he can see is that of a man laying in a road similar to himself.

Style
Long scenic shots showing he is alone lots of moving camera shots handheld with a tripod to stabilise because the Protagonist walks a lot lots of wide and full shots

Sound
Lots of ambient sound giving the feeling of isolation small amounts of dialogue mostly voiceovers a good mysterious soundtrack is key to this piece

Target Audience
I am aiming to achieve a 12a rating for my FMP because there isn't any direct violence and is very tame  but because its contains a horror based theme and has a scene containing blood which means i may have to consider in post production if it should be a 15 or not.

Time scales
I think that it should only take me a day to shoot the film and perhaps a day for all the folly and sound recordings I have a set day for filming which is the 28th of April which allows me to have all preproduction and location scouting complete and that gives me the rest of the time for editing which I think I will need most time for.

Additional Materials

Its likely I will be doing a voice over of the editing process and its possible i will be doing a A voice over evaluation of my Piece.

FMP After Pitch - Changing Idea

After I Pitched my FMP idea for Alone I ran into a complication one of the reasons I chose this as my FMP was because I had the location which was my house and was completely free and able to be used but I could no longer use the location due to the fact the owner was returning home and I would not be able to film at nights as I hoped to. So I then went back to my previous ideas before the Pitch and Realized Idea 5 would be easier to do and it would not be rushed so would overall be of better quality after thinking it Through I decided to change ideas and work on Idea 5 instead which would be easier to do and be less rushed.

FMP Pitch Review

I decided that I would use Idea 4 which was called "Alone" as my Final idea I then had to pitch the idea to the class The following are the slides are from my PowerPoint pitch for my FMP. After my pitch I only received one question which was concerning the amount of gore that my FMP would have because I was hoping for a 15 rating on my Final Product I decided there would only be one scene which would contain gore and would simply be dripping down the Protagonists hand.

FMP Advancing Ideas

After coming up with 5 basic ideas I decided to look over them pick 3 and advance them giving the ideas more thought and detail.

Idea 2 - (Table for One)

5 Men sitting around a old wooden table wearing dated suits and hats talking about a case of money that they stole one states there's only 5 people that know about the heist and there all in the room the conversation gets heated and they decided only one person can leave to ensure no one talks they all agree and put there guns on a separate table in the corner of the room apart from one gun a 6 bullet revolver which is placed in the middle of the table they then begin to spin the gun whoever is points at is then shot one by one they all die until 2 remain one man spins the gun but as he does so the other man shoots him with a concealed gun he then picks up the case and walks out.

Pros: Well Developed, Good Idea
Cons: Location, Props, Costume

Idea 4 - (Alone)

A young man is alone in his house for the evening or so he thinks then he begins to hear strange noises and he soon realises he's not as alone as he thinks he then begins to search the house baseball bat in hand as he's tormented by a mysterious figure who has one goal and soon enough a game of kill or be killed begins.

Pros: Good Idea, Access to location
Cons: Timely (has to be set at night)

Idea 5 - (Lonely Existence)

Waking up to a world void of all life Our protagonist has been alone for 3 weeks now he has questions but no answers he's finally accepting the truth of this lonely survival when he begins to notice something following him perhaps he's not alone as he thinks and the more he try's to look answers the more danger he's thrusting upon himself.

Pros: Good idea, Access to Location
Cons: Sound, Props

FMP Basic Ideas

FMP Ideas

These are my really basic ideas before there is any detail added for my Final Major Project

Idea 1

Shooting the Entire Project as a first person object for example a skull filming the entire project through the eyes of a skull leaving the audience guessing what the object is whilst telling the story of everyone around it. Idea is the object is something illegal and someone want to take it from The owner.

Idea 2

Dark room with some men (not sure how many) sitting round a wooden table all dressed in there best (like a 70s American gangster) discussing a case of money and how only one will leave with it the all decided there's only one fair way Russian roulette they place the gun on the table and spin one by one they die until 2 are left who have a climatic and off and spin the gun it points at a man that's clearly the dominant one he seems to calm about it the other guy picks up the gun and shoots but there's no bullets the main man then shoots a small pistol he walks over and picks up the case as he leaves the man he shot is choking up blood and says "cheater" before spurting more blood and dying.

Idea 3

(would like fog or rain) Dark outside a car pulls into view a mysterious man gets out he takes out a letter inviting him to a house he walks towards the house when he walks in its quiet and there's no electricity he uses a flashlight puts the letter on the counter and searches the house finds nothing he manages to short circuit a light into working the house isn't dirty but quite clean he sits on the bed the hears a noise opens the door and there's a silhouette of a girl outside who quickly disappears he decides to search the house again to be sure and he finds a blood trail (clearly not there earlier) he follows it to a dead rat in the garage the door quickly closes leaving him in darkness.

Idea 4

Serial killer horror set in a house in the dark: a man is being stalked in his own house by someone trying to kill him he ttys to find the killer before the killer finds him.

Idea 5

A man is left alone win the world he is the last human on the planet as he continues to search for a reason for this he begins to notice that maybe he is not alone as a mysterious figure is following his every move.

Colour Correction

This Lesson Involved us using Colour Correction we loaded some clips onto Adobe After Effects and Played around with the RGB to try to Colour Correct the clips we did this by changing the Gamma Pedestal and Gain Which Effects the lightest part of the image (Gamma) the Mid Tone like skin and clothes (Pedestal) and the dark areas like shadows (Gain) the first images are before I Corrected and changed the Wave Form values and the seconds are the results from my editing.

Spiderman Theories - Notes/ Research

Psychoanalytical Theory 1
- Spiderman (Super Ego) decides what he wants which is to be a hero and save people Peter (Ego) then deals with the consequences of the Super Egos commands like Mary Jane falling in love with spider man because he saved her from the thugs/villains (Id)

Psychoanalytical Theory 2
-Peter Parker is the Super ego who wants something for example he want Mary Jane to notice him to do this he use's the Spiderman (Ego) who achieves his goal of capturing Mary Jane's attention by saving her on two separate occasions from Villains (Id)

Auteur Theory
-Sam Raimi is the Auteur of Spiderman and puts his own original stamp on the work which includes:
-Recurring Cameo Appearances  (Ted Raimi, Bruce Campbell)

Research market/audience

We decided to look up The Royal Hotels Facebook page for some basic market research to see who exactly goes to The Royal Hotel and the results were mixed but everyone was over the age of 18 so taking this in with the expectations of our client we thought making the video not gender specific was the way to go and to keep it generally around the age od 21-30

Pre-Production - Soundtrack

For the soundtrack for our Corporate Promo we made a decision that because it was a promotional video there was no need for sound effects but instead we wanted just a soundtrack for the background to our work we then decided to search online for royalty free music we looked on various sites but then we found that YouTube had a wide variety of royalty free music we found a suitable song because we was sceptical about using YouTube we looked in the about section to view the terms of use

Next we found a song we liked and applied it to our promo which seemed to fit well finally we applied it to our work and made it slightly quieter to ensure you don't focus more on the music then the video.

Genre Theory

We have been studying the Genre Theory in our lesson first we talked about Iconography, Iconography is association a icon with something else in this case a film genre so a Gun would be associated with a action Genre and as a class we looked at the Western genre and had to list things you would expect to see in a Western Gene film this is what the class came up with.

We then had to find a clip that had some of these present i found this clip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0BrdMi-oyc
Which is from The Good The Bad The Ugly which is a personal favourite of mine and contain quite a few of the points listed which define it as a Western Genre.

We next had to try to make a Genre-less poster a poster that you would look at and not be able to define into a genre this is the poster i made this poster.
I found it hard to create a genre-less poster as even after I gave it my best shot people still thought it was a Romance genre but I learned that its very hard to take films/film posters and make them genre-less

In the next task we were then given two quotes and told to agree with one of them and give a brief explanation why

"Genre is an endlessly flexible tool for artists and audiences to understand and define films. It allows filmmakers to connect with the audience most likely to enjoy there work"

"Genre is a barrier to creativity and a strait jacket to prevent experimentation. it is the enemy of interesting cinema"

I would agree with the the first statement given because i fully support genre i do believe that it allows film makers to connect with the audience and Genre helps define the film and allows audiences to know what they are viewing before hand.

After Effects - Title Sequence

We were given the task of creating a moving title in after effects the first thing i did was create a new composition next i created a text box with the Text created i moved the Anchor point using the special tool next we went on Layer>New>Camera and set the Preset to 35mm next i clicked the cube box on my text layer making it 3D Then on the text i set a position keyframe at 0:00 with the Z axis at -900 i then moved to 8 frames later and changed the Z to 0 at 1 second i created another keyframe Z to 0  at 1 second 8 frames and changed Z to 1000 then between keyframe 3 and 4 i changed the opacity to 0 giving it a fade effect we then had Interpolation problems so i right clicked the second keyframe and selected Interpolation changed the Spatial Interpolation to linear and pressed ok i repeated this process on the third keyframe next i created a Radial Ramp

Cat in the Hat Psychoanalytical Theories

Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat

My chosen Film is Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat i will now look at this film and try to apply 3 different theories The Auteur, Feminist and Psychoanalytical Theory.

Psychoanalytical Theory

I mainly chose this film because think that it has a direct link to a Psychoanalytical Theory which is called the Ego Theory the idea is simple in basic terms a chain of command The idea is that you have a Super Ego who is in charge and relays a message down to the Ego much like the brain talking to the  body the Ego is the one that has to find a way of achieving the goal set. Incomes the Id which is the subconscious which generates quick ideas which can either be used or subsided as unimportant For example if the brain (The Super Ego) told the body (The Ego) we need money the subconscious (Id) might suggest to rob a bank but after generating the idea it is dismissed. In Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat The Cat Played by Mike Myers is the Super Ego because he is the one coming up with activities to do Conrad and Susie are the Ego the ones that have to deal with the commands and consequences and The Things are the Id as they generate problems (such as destroying the house) and also generates solutions (cures the boredom of the children and helping them fix the house) or From a different side of The psychoanalytical theory you could swap the roles and say that The children are the super ego wanting to have fun the Cat is the Ego trying to achieve the goal.
